Honestly, and again I'm not trying to bash the attempt at fixing the issue, this EAX sounds way too toned down from what I remember the game having. http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/179862-windows-7-x-fi-conflict.html
I'm surprised more people aren't experiencing the same problem, given the popularity of those fatality cards. I just installed OpenDNS on my router last night and everything is working fine on my vista 64 machines. Quality in-game is not EAX quality by my standards. Under this node should be your graphics card.
It sucks how the card acts sometimes. Yes, that's correct. Try installing the card in a different slot if possible. Dies geschieht aufgrund von Änderungen bzw.

Changing PCI slots often resolves Interrupt Request (IRQ) conflicts between the Sound Blaster and other devices such as graphic cards or integrated peripherals.
http://rapidshare.com/files/30533756/Drivers.rar I installed in compatibility mode under Windows 7, the original Cd. Everything works perfectly. Echo/Reverb are present both with no modification to the EAX control panel (thought it's subtle with both drivers) and very audible when EAX is maxed. My old hard drive was fine and had XP but I had video driver issues when playing high end graphics games.

To install this driver Download the SBXF_PCDRV_LB_2_18_0015.exe file onto your local hard disk. That pretty much sums it all up. A few days ago I did some research into it where I found one person stating it was the IRQ. I've had cases of moving around HDDs and it stops working.
After that I can install any download from Creative's site. Booted WIN7 and it automatically installed a set of "SB Xfi" drivers. Thank you Johnny!
