Often, Yahoo messenger and IE balloon in memory usage. Emailed Asus, and they said to install windows7 64bit again, which i did, but still has problems. I experience a breif moment och lag/slowdown followed by the sound starting to loop and... Computer drivers and hardware seem to be mostly 2006 vintage. When checking I saw only 4 and deleted them. In your loaded drivers list, dtsoftbus01.sys is listed which is the Daemon Tools driver. I haven't had a blue screen after several hours of heavy use today.

  9. The only drivers on my system are the ones provided by Dell initially (C disk drive and CD drive, audio, visual, mouse, keyboard...that's it).
  10. Initially though Comodo Firewall was at fault and uninstalled it but still didn't help.

Daemon Tools is a very popular cause of BSOD's in 7/8 based systems. Still not sure AVG 2012 might not be the cause I since removed it and loaded AVAST. Browse other questions tagged windows-7 bsod or ask your own question. Check This Out You guys are lifesavers.

And it actually made a new one too, because windows now thinks my version of windows7 is fake. (i used the cdkey from underneath the laptop) If there is any information All rights reserved. my guess is a memory problem.


This first started happening a month or so ago when opening a thread on a blog to just read it. Same thing with 3,000 errors in the first minutes. Using the site is easy and fun. I ran the MEM TEST 86+ on all 4 memory sticks at once and immediately had 3,000 errors in less than a minute.

You own the copy of Windows if it came with a machine you purchased, so there should be zero issues with re-activation. DirectX comes installed with Windows, so this may indicate Windows corruption. Should tester's time be included when estimating tickets? It has not reappeared.
