You can stop the test. When booting in the repair client it slaves your current drives therefore the c:\ drive will be labeled with another letter. It said fixing hard disk something and then restarted back to the black screen again. I 'll let you know if I have any problems. if the scan is completed with errors then get some imaging software and try to image your drive to different drive. I get choices for 'normal startup' or ' repair' but not safe mode. Running the long test invokes repairs.
