I have run registry cleaners in the past but was very careful about what I let it clean. After giving permissions, exit and reboot your computer. I haven't tried since. Also, before I forget, this PC has NOT been connected to the internet for a year now-I've mainly just used it to listen to my tunes and play a few CDrom here

The fans started spinning the power light came on and the I was hearing all the buzzes and whirls you'd expect. After getting back into Windows (without the updates), I can check the event viewer and find this message:The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck.
